Crindle Dykes (Thorngrafton)

 

On Armstrong's Map of Northumberland 1769, it is spellled "Trindle Dykes".  In the 1871 and 1881 census, it is spelled Crinhill Dykes.  In 1891, it is called Crindledykes Farm.

Crindledykes connection to the Romans.  Currently the farm is a B & B.

Od., between them (inter se) and one red cow worth 36s., from Cuthbert Pottes; James Foster f. of Trinill dykes, yeoman, alias Jane Lickthumbes, and Robert Croser f. of Wheldonc holme, yeoman, entertained them 1 November at Allerwash.
