Crow Hall (Thorngrafton)
Roman dressed stones were exposed by ploughing on Crowhall Farm, near Bardon Mill. Two statues were found on the same farm some 50 years ago suggesting the site of a shrine. There are no visible surface remains.

Sep 23 Presentment: When John Clavering, knight and sheriff of Northumberland, by virtue of a warrant, ordered Edward Hebborne, gentleman, Thomas Harbotle, gentleman, George Robinson, yeoman, George Thompson, yeoman, and Henry Smyth, yeoman, bailiffs and servants of the said sheriff, to distrain the goods of Alexander Ridley to the value of £20, they took at Whitesheiles 50 beasts, viz., cows, bullocks and heifers from Alexander Ridley f. of Whitesheiles, gentleman, whereupon Alexander Ridley, Marmaduke Ridley f. of Whitesheiles, gentleman, Nicholas Crane f. of Crawhall, gentleman, and Anne his wife, and Margaret Crane, daughter of Nicholas Crane, spinster, committed riot and assaulted the above-named bailiffs and servants and rescued the beasts. And Nicholas Crane declared that "Talbott and all the rest should kisse his arsse and yf the justices should come with a thousand men to drive away their goodes, if he (the said Nicholas Crane) had but one howres warninge he dyd not care one pine for them all".
