January 18th - Ralph Reed, Esq., of Haydon Lodge, near Haydon Bridge, left his home to attend the funeral of Mr. Wm. Todd, of the Tofts.  Scarecly, however, had he sat down in the house of the deceased friend, than, in the act of addressing Mr. Dodd, of Allendale, he fell from his chair, and himself was a corpse.  Mr. Reed was 59 years of age.
