Written in pencil. Small scrap of paper has been pinned to it, giving the address of "Mrs J H Calvert, Merry Knowe, Slaggyford, Carlisle", and headed "Royal Dragoons. Same as Briggs". Also pinned to it was a printed card "In Memory of John Henry Calvert, husband of Hannah Elizabeth Calvert died at Merry Knowe, Knarsdale, (Northumberland), 23 July 1923 aged 32, buried in Knarsdale Churchyard on 25th."
